WDR Radio Chorus of Cologne

The WDR Radio Chorus of Cologne consists of 48 professional singers whose repertory spans from music of the middle ages to contemporary compositions, from sacred music to operetta, and from large scale oratorios with orchestra to soloistic vocal ensembles.

Rochester Cathedral Choir

Rochester Cathedral is the Mother Church of the second most ancient diocese in England, and has resounded to the singing of God's praises since AD 604, when St Augustine appointed Justus to be the first Bishop.

Grex Vocalis

Grex Vocalis (The Singing Flock) was formed in 1971. The repertoire spans from renaissance to contemporary Norwegian music. The choir has been awarded the “Norwegian Grammy" for three of its 13 albums and won 1st prizes in national and international contests: Arezzo, Gorizia, Tolosa and Marktoberdorf.

The Madrigal Chorus of Aachen

The Madrigal Chorus of Aachen has been in existence for 30 years. It emerged from the relative anonymity of the larger
Aachen choruses by performing the secular and sacred choral music of the Renaissance and Baroque with appropriate small forces; soon they expanded into Romantic and modern choral music directions.

'Der Junge Chor' of Aachen

'Der Junge Chor' of  Aachen was founded in 1966 by Fritz ter Wey as a student chamber chorus. Under his direction the ensemble has mastered approximately 600 choral works from Renaissance to modern and performed in more than 500 concerts.

The Aachen Chamber Chorus

The repertory of the Aachen Chamber Chorus, founded 1981, includes a cappella choral music from the Renaissance through the Avant Garde, yet also includes oratorio works from the Baroque and Romantic eras.

Carmina Mundi

The chamber chorus Carmina Mundi ('Songs of the World') was founded by Harald Nickoll in 1983. The chorus concentrates almost exclusively on a cappella works with a specialty in contemporary choral literature.

Marcus Bosch

Born in 1969, conductor Marcus Bosch has been 'Generalmusikdirektor' of the city of Aachen since 2002.

Ansgar Menze

Ansgar Menze has been entrusted with the direction of both production and management of the Chorbiennale 2009. In addition, he also acts as dramatic advisor and production director for a number of further projects.
